EPA-required Lead Training

We have arranged for Ed Wenz of Contractors Training Institute, LLC to do the EPA required RRP training for the reduced price of $150 on Thursday September 7th. CLICK TO REGISTER ONLINE.

EPA's Lead Renovation, Repair and Painting Rule (RRP Rule) requires that firms performing renovation, repair, and painting projects that disturb lead-based paint in homes, child care facilities and pre-schools built before 1978 have their firm certified by EPA (or an EPA authorized state), use certified renovators who are trained by EPA-approved training providers and follow lead-safe work practices.

Pre-IPTW Hands-on Workshops

Three major pre-IPTW hands-on workshops are scheduled. The workshops are $150 each, and registrants are limited to six, so register early! Registrants for these workshops must bring their own Personal Protective Equipment, wear long pants and work shoes. Morning snacks, box lunch and afternoon refreshments will be provided. Stucco Over Brick Repair

The Stucco workshop will be instructed by Blair Bates of Building Restoration Inc. Students will be working on the portico of the Belle Isle Boat Club. September 6th, 7th and 8th. CLICK TO REGISTER ONLINE.

Repointing A Historic Stone Building 

The repointing workshop will be instructed by Aaron Wolk and Jim Hunter of CONPROCO. Students will be working on the historic police station on Belle Isle.  September 6th, and 7th. CLICK TO REGISTER ONLINE.

Restoring Steel Windows

The steel window restoration workshop will be instructed by Jim Turner of Turner Restorations. Students will be working on a historic utility building on Belle Isle. September 6th and 7th. CLICK TO REGISTER ONLINE.

Cleaning Graffiti and other contaminants from Memorials and Grave Markers

The Cleaning of Graffiti as well as the cleaning of Organic and Inorganic stains from Memorials and Grave Markers will be lead by Andy deGruchy of LimeWorks.us. Products by EacoChem with company reps present, D/2 and equipment from ESCA Micro Abrasives will be demonstrated. Students will be working on the Peace Memorial at Belle Isle and Grave Markers at Elmwood Cemetery September 7th. CLICK TO REGISTER ONLINE
