Preservation Trades Network (PTN) is delighted to announce that the 25th annual International Preservation Trades Workshop (IPTW) will commence on the weekend of September 7-9th, 2023 in Frederick, Maryland. Join us as we return to Frederick at a new venue!

IPTW 2023 will be hosted by our longtime partner, the Historic Preservation Training Center (HPTC), a division of the National Park Service, who have been dedicated to the safe preservation and maintenance of national park and partner facilities by demonstrating outstanding leadership, delivering quality preservation services, and providing preservation education since 1977. HPTC's new facility location, the Hargett Farm, located at 6129 Butterfly Lane, will be the site for IPTW!

The IPTW brings together trade organizations, nonprofits and tradespeople from across the country, providing an opportunity for individuals of every age and background to network and experience traditional building trades in a hands-on setting.

Since the very first “gathering of trades” 25 years ago in Frederick at the first annual IPTW, the Preservation Trades Network has strived to fill a critical void within the mainstream preservation movement- the perception that trades people and contractors were not adequately recognized or acknowledged by the preservation industry. As usual, workshops, speakers, and tours of historic sites throughout the Frederick region will supplement hands-on demonstrations. Longtime members, take note there will be new venues for the event and we look forward to welcoming you back to where it all began.

We look forward to meeting again next September 7-9th, 2023 in Frederick, Maryland.
