Mike is a third generation Masonry Restoration Craft Worker from Buffalo, New York and a twenty-eight year member of the Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers International Union (IUBAC). During his time in the field, Mike had the honor of working on some of the most significant historic structures in and around Buffalo, NY. In 1999, Mike was hired by the International Masonry Institute (IMI) and soon became the National Safety and Restoration Training Director. In 2011, Mike earned a Master of Arts Degree in Historic Preservation along with receiving the Hiram McCullough Award for best thesis titled “Developing the Qualification Standard for the Preservation Craftworker”. 

Over the years, Mike has provided training to hundreds of masons engaged in masonry restoration on the best practices of masonry repairs as well as safety related topics. Recently, Mike has completed two extensive peer-review evaluations which granted him the honor of being recognized as a Professional from both leading organizations: The American Institute of Conservation (AIC) and The Association For Preservation Technology (APT).

Currently, Mike serves as an OSHA\OTI “Master Safety Trainer” for the National Center for Construction Research and Training where he provides safety training to members of the building trades’ through-out the U.S.
