Beginning the Saturday before IPTW 2011 Landis Valley Museum will host a timber frame workshop to construct a new sheep fold for the museum. The timber frame will be cut using “square rule” layout and sports a pentagonal ridge beam. The workshop will include converting logs to timbers by hand hewing, Square rule joinery layout of rough sawn timbers and hand tool and power tool joinery. The workshop will take place at the museum and the public will be invited to observe the work and to attend the hand raising of the new frame. For logistical reasons, registration for the timber frame workshop will close on June 30th. Registration slots for students are limited so register early.
