  • Cobblestone Masonry & Repointing

You won’t find buildings like these just anywhere—or many chances to learn how to preserve them.

Western New York’s cobblestone buildings are among the region’s most distinctive historic treasures. Join mason Brian Daddis for a rare, hands-on workshop exploring the specialized techniques needed to assess, repair, and repoint these remarkable structures.

Participants will learn about traditional materials, mortar removal, repointing, and the challenges unique to cobblestone masonry—all while working directly with a building tradition closely tied to the Erie Canal era.
  • Wood Window Restoration

Old windows were built to last. Learn how to make them last even longer.

Join the craftspeople of Talis Historic Restoration for a full-day, hands-on introduction to historic wood window repair. You’ll explore the entire process—from assessing and disassembling sash to fitting glass, glazing, finishing, and preparing windows for reinstallation.

Whether you work in preservation, care for an older building, or simply want to better understand traditional craftsmanship, this workshop offers practical skills you can put to use.
