Amanda Starcher Warren discovered her love of historical preservation through the stage. As a theater major in college, she quickly learned that she actually loved the building and designing aspects. She discovered her love of working with her hands during a summer of stock theater. This love led her to enroll in carpentry and cabinetmaking courses. Her carpentry instructor hired her to work for his contracting business which afforded her the opportunity to work on historic structures.
Amanda still does occasional work on large structures, but has been gravitating toward restoring windows. She does consulting work on numerous projects. She is sought after for material identification and preliminary surveys for historical significance
